In my 20 years of beekeeping I have found that while some queens and bees can display the look of a certain breed or exhibit behaviors associated with a specific breed. It is my belief that the bees of North America are "muts", and that is not a bad thing. Bees mix genetics and characteristics that help them thrive in their local areas.
